Sustainability

Sustainability and ecological awareness are key elements for Sanmy. All our activities are based on these principles. We work in line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 and promote a circular economy.
This is why all our products are packaged with recyclable materials and we promote and encourage sustainable alternatives such as the edible and biodegradable Sorbos straws or Ocean52 drinks and waters, the benefits of which are dedicated 52% to protecting the oceans, among others.

Our factory is located in a protected natural environment, at the foot of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park, where the local water used to make our soft drinks comes from. Furthermore, we store the waste water from the reverse osmosis process to use it for other purposes, in addition to water purification.

We promote the use of sustainable energies, as our plant is equipped with a large photovoltaic energy installation, free of contamination, which represents an important and annually growing percentage of the energy used. At the same time, the electricity we use comes from a 100% CO2-free source.

Our entire range of glass induces returnable use, in which we give new life to siphons and soft drinks from the Catering channel. In addition, we recycle PET containers and caps of our drinks to reuse them for other uses, as well as cartons and glass. Likewise, we have recently significantly reduced the use of plastic in our products, adopting measures such as reducing the weight of our recyclable PET bottles, or shrink-wrapping film, which have meant a saving of more than 8.2 tons of this material. At the same time, we are committed to eliminating unnecessary plastic elements in our products or dark colours, to reduce the impact of their production.

Finally, we promote responsible consumption and support festivals and initiatives focused on preservinhig the planet.
